Na vier jaar is de koek op, Vreemd verlaat de Sugar Factory. Maar saai hoeft het op donderdag in Amsterdam niet te worden; het volgende feest van organisator Soulrock strijkt neer op een nieuwe locatie. Voordat het zo ver is geeft kan bij 3VOOR12/Amsterdam 3×2 kaarten gewonnen worden voor de allerlaatste keer Vreemd.
De laatste editie van Vreemd is op 26 maart. “De reden dat we er mee stoppen is heel simpel, Sugar (Factory red.) en ik vinden het allebei mooi geweest” zei Soulrock-baas Carlos Valdes al eerder tegen minimal.blog.nl. “Het is tijd voor iets nieuws in Amsterdam en op donderdag. We hebben meer dan vier jaar aan de voorbereidingen en uitvoeringen gewerkt. We hebben een podium geboden aan talenten waarvan de meesten zijn uitgegroeid tot veel gevraagde dj’s en performers en kunstenaars. Dat is een troef die we in handen hebben en die willen we graag behouden.”
Vanaf april organiseert Sugar Factory een nieuw feest, in samenwerking met muziek webzine 365mag.com, deze avond zal ook vol staan met elektronische muziek. Soulrock start op 16 april in Amsterdams jongste club Trouw aan de Wibautstraat met Vinyl People. Daar wil ze een nieuw podium bieden aan lokaal talent en internationale acts in Amsterdam.
